The goal of the College Advisory Program is to increase college accessibility for our under-resourced high school students. We work with students throughout high school to develop a competitive resume and college application.
- Volunteers provide tutoring throughout the school year in our College and Career Center to ensure students remain on a college-preparatory path.
- College visits are arranged, transportation is provided, and students receive assistance and coaching with resume-building and interviewing skills.
- Students receive guidance toward developing a list of colleges and universities to which they will apply, taking intellectual interests, location, size, cultural fit, and affordability into consideration.
- Students receive guidance and coaching with respect to the standardized testing schedule, in order to ensure that they are taking all the necessary tests at optimal times.
- Seniors receive guidance in the development of their personal statement and supplemental essays, as well as support and coaching in the completion of their college and financial aid applications.
